From Mordechai Kaplans Diary 1973 1/9/73:




I recall very distinctly the first talk Solomon Schechter gave to the students of the new seminary during September 1902 but the only statement that impressed me so that I remember it was "Be sure to read the New Testament."

    Is the full diary online somewhere, or published? I've seen some intriguing quotes about my relatives: my great-grandfather Louis Cohen, and his brother Joseph H. Cohen, founder (with R Kaplan) of the Jewish Center.
