The first is the original photograph (taken from here). The second is a copy that was sent around by a Yeshiva for fundraising.
I'm not certain if the Yeshiva felt that it isn't fitting for the CC to be seen sitting next a woman. which would be an insult to the memory CC who obviously had no such problems. Or if they simply felt that their recipients were even "frummer" then the CC and wouldn't want to hang up a photo containing a woman.
Either way, this is a pure falsehood - something that the CC considered a D'Oraita - see לאוין -פתיחה לס' חפץ חיים ובאר מים חיים שם
[Comment from M. Y. Gluck: It looks like they used Photoshop's stamp tool to get rid of the woman on the left, leaving obvious traces. When they got rid of the woman on the right, it looks like they left a little to outline the guy's shoulder - but that's a fake highlight, and should have been blended into the background. Also, they actually constructed the rest of the Mezuzah. ]

Maybe the women didn't want to be on everyone's walls - did you think of that???
:-)
Anyway, if I'm not mistaken, it looks like they used Photoshop's stamp tool to get rid of the woman on the left, leaving obvious traces. When they got rid of the woman on the right, it looks like they left a little to outline the guy's shoulder - but that's a fake highlight, and should have been blended into the background. Also, they actually constructed the rest of the Mezuzah. :-) There's more to say, but I've probably lost my audience. :-)
Hey, thanks! That was very interesting. I added it to the main post, I hope you don't mind.
Not at all...
While they were at it, they should have replaced his cap with a Hamburg to make him look more Yeshivish.
hold on- you have to be "frummer" than the CC to not want women hanging on your walls?
did the CC have pictures of women hanging on his walls?
I meant the more general issue of having (normally dressed) women in his vicinity.
You should just know that I just today found a CD from the Chofetz Chayim Foundation sitting in my room, and I decided to play it because it was Tisha B'Av. Within the first minute of the presentation, there was the photo you are blogging about -- WITH THE WOMEN IN IT! I can send it to you if you would like. The things you have written are false and against everything the chafetz chayim stands for. Shame on you.
I'm sure you did. What does this have to do with the picture that was sent out w/o the women?
I am saying, as you know, that the picture did not go out photoshopped out with the women cropped out. They are in there. That is what I am saying. Do you need me to clarify any further?
I beg to differ. All the copies of the picture that I have seen were photoshopped. You must be referring to something else.
Give me your address. I promise to send it to you. It's a CD, and the picture is shown largely, and in the beginning.
That is really ver kind of you but it hardly makes any difference. The picture on the CD (from the CC foundation) is not the picture sent out by the Yeshiva I refer to.
May I inquire why you feel so strongly about the subject?
Ohh. I see now. So it was NOT the CC Foundation that you are referring to. That's a releif. I thought it was becuase my CC CD has it on there with the women, and I thought that this blog was saying false things about the CC Foundation, so I wanted to show you the CD. I guess another yeshiva is using the photo and cropping the women. That really sucks. Glad you clarified.
No problem! I can certainly see why you a slander against the CCf would bother you.
