So little changed in 60 years.Wolf2191https://www.blogger.com/profile/13577870680689849400noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8358603577059630653.post-69272465021455283012010-04-30T10:30:04.757-04:002010-04-30T10:30:04.757-04:00As long as there is a perception that keeping hala...As long as there is a perception that keeping halacha plays no role in ensuring and promoting morality, much less spiritual growth, critics will not see a point in focusing on both. Why don't we also focus on alchemy? is how it is seen.Anonymous Bnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8358603577059630653.post-56360691459927382722010-04-30T09:18:48.554-04:002010-04-30T09:18:48.554-04:00Perhaps instead of focusing on our IRA account we ...Perhaps instead of focusing on our IRA account we should work to ensure that streets are safe from murderers and rapists. But why the false choice? Can't we have both-complete fidelity to Halachah and spiritual growth? It is always the argument of people who don't care for Halachah that we should instead be focused on molesting children, youth at risk, kirruv movement, lowering taxes, or other popular issue.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8358603577059630653.post-26183526892497108852010-04-29T17:04:15.351-04:002010-04-29T17:04:15.351-04:00Quite intresante indeed, Weltschler's observat...Quite intresante indeed, Weltschler's observation that a lot of the emphasis on halcahic minutia is tied to commercial interests. When one looks at the booming "bug checking" racket, with all its associated produce and paraphanelia, and of course, the entire kosher supervision industry, one is hard pressed to disagree. [These example, of course, can easily be multiplied.]

DFAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
